In a former industrial district where a paper factory once operated, the need arose to rethink the space. The building lost its production function but retained its distinctive character — it required a new program while preserving its identity.
A key task of the project was to maintain a connection with the past. We preserved the characteristic elements of the historic brick volume, emphasizing its industrial roots through interior details: light metal trusses, textured masonry, and the rhythmic pattern of the windows. Inside, a double-height space was opened up — airy and filled with natural light.
The arcade encircling the building was transformed into an urban promenade — an open gallery ideal for meeting, strolling, or stopping for coffee. The glass volume of the new food court, integrated with precision into the historical fabric, does not compete with it but subtly highlights it, creating a layered architectural experience.
